I dislike the fact that most meetings under a free version only last for 40 minutes. I wish they could make them last for an hour at most. I am also not very fond of the fact that one needs to have a constant internet connection.

Consumes a lot of battery power, this is a problem if you are remote in a location without power.

The service was lacking. Our phone has been losing internet connection repeatedly and even though our internet speed/latency is beyond what Ooma requires, they still tried to blame the issues on my internet connection (and even told my staff that a jitter time of 1ms should be 5ms, even though the fact is a lower jitter number is desirable not higher).”

Their approach to business appears to be: lure the customer in, demand a 3-year contract, hide the part about auto renewal, provide just average level service, hire less than competent support staff to handle customer complaints, and hope the customer doesn’t become aware of the auto renewal gimmick before the end of the contract term.

“1) It’s been about 3 months and we haven’t yet been able to use Nextiva due to the LONG wait to get verified with their campaign registry. 2) I was told by the initial person who helped set us up that they have no control over the capaign registry and no way to expedite the process. 3) I was not told who approves or denies the campaign registry when I asked, but rather, the answer was very vague. 4) After our campaign was rejected (after waiting almost 3 months) and we resubmitted the request, we waited for approximately 1.5 – 2 more weeks to reach out to them again to inquire about our status. 5) I was told by the customer service agent helping me that it was NEXTIVA ENGINEERS WHO APPROVE OR DENY THE CAMPAIGN REGISTRY! 6) I feel that I was lied to originally about this whole campaign registry 7) I don’t know why it takes 3+ months for them to approve companies to use their service, but that is an unforgivable about of time.”

Dialpad customer reviews

Reliability of the “mute” function and call quality. There have been times I haven’t been able to unmute myself through the app, causing a long delay in jumping back in the conversation. I’ve also had to remove myself from a call completely via the app, then dialing back in using a phone to correct the “mute/unmute” issue and low quality call.

“Calls constantly drop. I’m not even able to use the service that I pay for because the web app continues to crash. Every time I enter a room with an international caller we drop off in 30 seconds. Rinse, wash, repeat.”

The sound quality is horrible. I constantly get complaints that there is tons of background noise (while I am in a soundproof booth alone) or that I sound like I am under water/in a tunnel/have a mouth full of marbles which is hardly acceptable in general, never mind in a business setting. the constant crashing and necessary reboots I could look past and chalk it up to my computer, but the sound quality is a company wide issue.

It’s not as intuitive to copy/paste out of the chat sessions and I find it difficult to archive a chat, though I may just not know how to do it as it’s not something I do regularly.

If you’re calling through your computer or phone app, you will have a lot of dropped calls. Many of our reps use the app on the phone (or call through their computer) and report a horrible quality expereince and many dropped calls, with some switching to their old Google Voice number to complete the call. We’ve called Jive Support for help but the action taken has been very slow and to much avail.

Nothing seemed to work. Calls were always dropping, not coming through, showing as unavailable. A lot was promised to us when we signed up, and little to nothing was delivered.
